Dr. Chris Kuehl is a Managing Director of Armada Corporate Intelligence. He provides forecasts and strategic guidance for a wide variety of corporate clients and business organizations around the world. He is the economic analyst for several national and international organizations
Prior to starting Armada in 1999 he was a professor of economics and finance for 15 years – teaching in the US, Hungary, Russia, Estonia, Singapore and Taiwan. He holds advanced degrees in economics, Soviet studies and East Asian studies.
Chris is the co-author of The Flagship and The Watch- both publications from Armada. He presents to over 125 associations and businesses each year – in the US and globally.
Shawn Stomp, CPA, CCIFP, is a construction finance leader based in Albuquerque and a long-time member of CFMA. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer at TLC, where he is responsible for financial operations, reporting, forecasting and process modernization for a group of nine businesses with 700+ employees. In his role as CFO, he’s driving a strategic finance transformation focused on faster reporting, stronger forecasting, and data-driven decision making with shorter close cycles and automated workflows to translate operational data into clear decisions for project and operating teams.
Previously, Shawn served as CFO at Heads Up Landscape Contractors, helping guide the company through rapid growth and a successful sale to Yellowstone Landscapes, a private-equity–backed group. Earlier in his career, he held finance and reporting roles with public and private companies following a successful career in Assurance at KPMG, rising to the role of Senior Manager in under 5 years, while serving multiple publicly traded clients on audits, SEC filings, and an IPO. Across roles, he’s known for practical analytics, cash discipline, and building scalable FinOps processes that save time and sharpen margin visibility across the business.
Shawn holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of New Mexico and previously served on the national board of trustees for ICCIFP. He has been a CPA since 1995 and lives in Albuquerque with his wife Stefanie and their twin daughters, Lindsay and Suzanne.
Kari M. Juvera, CCIFP, CPA, CGMA, CRIS–President of Enterprise Builders Corporation, a large Commercial General Contractor located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Kari is responsible for leading the company’s daily operations, executing strategy and promoting business development. Prior to joining the construction world, she spent 11 years in public accounting and banking. Kari has been a CFO Panel speaker for CFMA National Conferences and CFMA Regional Conferences, is a current CFO Panel Speaker for AICPA’s Construction & Industry Conference, AGC CFMA’s Construction Financial Management Conference, as well as a guest panel author in ABC’s Construction Executive Magazine, April 2024. Kari is a member of AICPA, CFMA, IMA, NMSCPA, and NAIOP and holds a BS in Accounting from Boise State University. She is the Past Chairman of Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA) Certification Division and Past Chairman of the Board of the New Mexico Society of CPAs (NMSCPAs), the AICPA Governing Council and is a 2025 CFMA Chairman’s Award receipient.
David Coates is a Tax Principal based in Salem, Oregon, helping establish REDW’s growing presence in the Pacific Northwest. With more than three decades of experience in public accounting and wealth management, David advises clients on tax planning, compliance, and long-term financial strategies. His extensive background includes serving high-net-worth individuals, family groups, construction companies, and privately held businesses. Recognized for his collaborative leadership, mentorship, and ability to build lasting relationships, David brings valuable insight and steady guidance to both clients and colleagues.
During his career, David has held several leadership positions, including CEO and Managing Partner at Frost & Company, PLLC, where he directed firm operations and drove strategic growth. Most recently, he was a Tax Principal at a leading accounting and professional services firm, specializing in real estate and complex tax planning.
Wryan Capps, CPA has over 25 years of public accounting experience serving the construction and real estate industry, with clients located all over the Southwest. Wryan also served as the CFO of a privately held production home builder and developer during the boom years of the mid-2000s. Wryan is the acting Treasurer of the Associated Builders and Contractors of NM.
Chris Downey is Downey & Company’s President specializing in contract bonds and insurance for commercial contractors. Chris started his career as a surety underwriter with Fidelity & Deposit in 1995 after graduating from Whittier College in Los Angeles, CA. He worked as a contract bond underwriter with three different surety companies before joining Downey and Company in 2001. Because he has been cross trained in both the surety company ranks and the agency side of the business, he understands the subtlety and importance of the surety relationship. Chris is active in various trade organizations and currently serves on the national board of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP) as its 2nd Vice President of the Executive Committee. Chris also serves on the CFMA Albuquerque Board of Directors. Past positions include the New Mexico Branch of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABCNM) president in 2019.
Carmela Little has served as Chief Financial Officer of Brycon since 2019, where she ensures the company’s financial health by providing strategic financial leadership, optimizing performance, and driving long-term growth. With over 13 years of experience as a Controller in the construction industry, she has streamlined accounting operations, strengthened internal controls, and advanced impactful financial initiatives. She has successfully implemented ERP and HRIS/Payroll systems, enhancing efficiency and operational performance across business functions.
Rachel Overmier, MPA, SHRM-SCP, THRP, CCP has been a Compensation Consultant with more than eight years of human resources and risk consulting experience, Rachel expertly leads our Compensation team in providing extensive compensation planning services to both public sector and Tribal government clients, which includes job analysis, job evaluation, and employee-specific internal equity/salary compression calculations.
Alexander White, Ph. D., leads CLA's Data Science and Artificial Intelligence practice at CLA. He received his PhD in Biostatistics from Indiana University School of Medicine. At CLA, he works to develop software products and partners with clients to create tailored solutions that harness statistics, AI, and machine learning for strategic insights and decision-making.
As Vice President of Finance at HB Construction, David Winsor oversees company financial operations across New Mexico & Texas. A licensed CPA with more than 26 years of experience, he ensures diligent financial management and ethical practices at both a project and company level. David’s experience includes accounting and financial management for technology as well as multinational shipping and media companies.
David excels in mentoring and supporting HB project teams as they pursue sound accounting and value generation for clients. He has also led the company’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity approach, working to advance both innovation and risk management.
