State Tax Advisors, Melissa Bartimmo & Ryan Epps
Melissa Bartimmo, J.D., LLM in Tax: Melissa has been practicing in state and local tax since graduating from the University of Houston Law Center in 2011. While based in Texas, her practice has touched on every state and U.S. territory in the course of the past 10 years. She particularly enjoys taking the complexity of state and local taxation and reducing it to plain, simple English
Ryan Epps: Before graduating from Baylor University in 2015, Ryan Epps was already convinced that he wanted to pursue a career in state and local taxation. Ryan particularly enjoys analyzing the transaction tax because of its fact-dependent nature and its application over a wide array of industries. Since the completion of five years in the field, he's taken a further interest in foreign entities entering the U.S. market and has worked with companies in Australia and the United Kingdom. Ryan is seeking to earn his C.M.I. designation at the Institute of Professionals in Taxation by the end of 2021.
